Operating as a healthcare social enterprise and development program, CCBRT serves the most vulnerable and works to prevent lifelong disabilities. It also engages in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) services, including obstetric fistula repairs. Since 2005, CCBRT has provided community and center-based rehabilitation services through the “House of Hope” in Moshi.

Position: Wheelchair Technician

Role Summary:
The Wheelchair Technician will assist the seating clinic team in assembling, producing, and customizing wheelchairs and assistive devices according to required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assembly, production, and customization of wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
• Support clinicians during patient assessments and the fitting of devices.
• Transport clients, equipment, and supplies between the seating unit and the workshop as needed.
• Ensure that each wheelchair and all modifications meet technical safety standards before use.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for staff and clients.
• Ensure tools are in place and in good working condition.
• Participate in outreach activities as required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Form 4 Certificate plus training in basic wheelchair services from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of one year of working experience in wheelchair support.
• Certificate in welding is an added advantage.
• Flexibility and ability to multitask.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Swahili and English.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to work.
• Basic computer skills.
