Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Direct Implementation (50%)
- Ensure high-quality project implementation and timely reporting of interventions.
- Collaborate with partners, LGAs, and stakeholders to influence policy and achieve impact.
- Monitor field activities, program strategies, and resources to ensure progress toward objectives.
- Contribute to improved food security, resilience, and employment opportunities for beneficiaries.
- Identify and support vulnerable households in the assigned project location.
- Promote social cohesion, peace, and stability between refugees and host communities.
- Enhance gender equality and protection for project beneficiaries.
- Oversee day-to-day project operations.
End Results:
- Effective project implementation aligned with PDD and Logframe.
- Inclusion of the most vulnerable households in project interventions.
2. Project Budget and Resource Management (15%)
- Participate in annual and multiyear budget planning and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with WVT finance policies and donor requirements.
- Monitor project funds, including budget burn rates and re-alignments.
- Facilitate integrated planning and budgeting with local governments and stakeholders.
End Results:
- Effective activity implementation within approved budgets and donor standards.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEAL), and Reporting (20%)
- Collaborate with MEAL Officer to adapt the project theory of change.
- Implement the program’s impact measurement system, including baseline and periodic data collection.
- Generate evidence for policy impact and contribute to WV and EU strategies.
- Prepare and share quality project progress reports.
- Participate in annual program reviews and reflective learning forums.
End Results:
- Quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning to enhance project progress and decision-making.
4. Networking, Visibility, and Donor Recognition (10%)
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, LGAs, and stakeholders.
- Ensure project and donor visibility through branding and participation in forums.
- Represent the project in learning and sharing meetings/workshops.
- Document and share processes, challenges, best practices, and lessons learned.
End Results:
- Strong networks and a positive image of the project, WV, and EU.
5. Other Duties (5%)
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the employer.
Required Professional Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in implementing agriculture or rural development projects.
- Experience with INGOs, EU, and UN Agencies projects is an added advantage.
- Experience working with rural communities and understanding inclusive programming (e.g., GESI, advocacy, clean energy, financial management).
- Experience working with youth.
- Must be a Christian with good conduct.
Required Education and Certification:
- University degree in Forest, Environmental Science, Rural Development, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
- Advanced degree in the above fields is an added advantage.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Strong report writing and facilitation skills.
- Basic understanding of advocacy approaches and issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Swahili.
- Proven experience in project documentation and dissemination.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission, and Vision.
Travel and Work Environment Requirements:
- Willingness to work in rural areas.
- On-call: 5%.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in rural areas.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
Key Working Relationships:
- Project Manager: Direct reporting (daily).
- Cluster Management & Specialists: Technical and administrative support (daily/weekly).
- Local Government Authorities: Collaboration in planning, review, and reporting (weekly).
- Project Partners: Collaboration (as required).
Decision-Making:
All decisions require endorsement from the Project Manager.
