Responsibilities:
Ensuring the efficient running of the IT Service Desk and that calls are addressed and closed in a timely manner
Monitoring the network, servers and communications systems and troubleshoot problems to maintain the highest level of system availability
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner that complies with company and legislated requirements.
Coordinate Computers, Systems and network operations
Install/Configure all IT Hardware and Software
Maintain and Repair of IT Hardware and Software.
Manage Local Area Network Infrastructure
Maintaining and encouraging high standards for service and quality of work provided by the IT department personnel
Transferring knowledge to other employees to enable smooth handovers and improved technical base within the department thus leading to consistent level of IT services delivered to the company.
Provide coverage for support calls
Provide incident management as per the ITIL service Delivery framework
Provide hardware and software support
Provide 1st and 2nd level Network Administration support to the Bulyanhulu Gold Mine operations
Add and remove users to the network as necessary
Review user list for cell phone users who get company Airtime/data Bundles before paying invoice of service provider.
Maintaining an up-to-date inventory for the company properties falling under IT Section (Computers, Cell phones, Monitors, Projectors, PA Systems
Ensure that all hardware is operational
Qualification requirements:
Graduate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology, Microsoft Certified Professional & ITIL Foundation Certification
A person with Cisco Certifications (CCNA) will be an added advantage.
Experience and competencies needed:
A minimum 2 -4 years IT experience, Computer repairs and end Users support
Experience in Cisco Switches and Access Points configurations and deployments is an added advantage.
Skills/knowledge requirements:
Intermediate Skills in computer repairs
Good knowledge of Computer network infrastructure
Consistent demonstration of Barrick DNA.
Ability to maintain accurate records
Self-starter, able to work and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Performance Orientation, strongly motivated, leads by example and maintains a high work standard
Willing to support all users
Clear and effective communication skills in written and spoken English
Confident and dedicated with a passion for computers
