Job Overview
Corus International, through its Lutheran World Relief program, seeks experienced and responsible Drivers for a five-year USDA project focused on developing and transforming small and medium enterprise (SMEs) poultry value chain into sustainable commercial businesses in Tanzania. The project will strengthen the feed sector and incorporate climate-smart technologies, improve animal health management practices, capacity building in agricultural finance services, and strengthening the extension and service providers in Mbeya, Iringa, Songwe, and Rukwa.

Job Summary
The Driver will operate vehicles and transport cargo and/or passengers, ensuring a safe and efficient service. The Driver must maintain a safe driving record and adhere to all driving laws and regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities

Drive vehicles as directed and perform basic maintenance procedures.

Keep track of vehicle maintenance records and ensure service schedules are adhered to.

Deliver parcels, letters, and other relevant items as directed.

Drive long distances with or without LWR Staff when required and adhere with the rules and regulations

Ensure necessary steps are taken as required by rules and regulations in case of involvement in an accident.

Ensure that the vehicle is always clean and in good order and all the documentation e.g. Insurance & Road license are up to date

Ensure the vehicle is kept secure at all times.

Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc

Take account of all available information on road conditions, accessible routes and locations (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to update daily.

Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, prepare vehicle spare parts inventory.

Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring reports, including records of vehicle operations, maintenance, expenses, and mileage at the end of each month.
Education & Experience

Form IV education and above.

Valid Class C driving license.

Advanced driver’s certificate grade two from National Institute of Transport or any recognized Institute.

Minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.

Previous experience working with an INGO will be an added advantage.

Good driving record with no major accidents in the past 2 years.

Proficiency in Swahili and basic understanding of English.
