China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. (CPP) is a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), specializing in the construction and engineering of oil and gas pipelines. Established in 1973, CPP has played a pivotal role in developing China’s pipeline infrastructure and has expanded its operations globally.
Beyond its domestic projects, CPP has undertaken significant international projects, including:
Habshan-Fujairah Oil Pipeline: A 1.5 million-barrel-per-day crude oil pipeline in the United Arab Emirates, completed between 2008 and 2011.
East-West Gas Pipeline: A key pipeline in India, enhancing the country’s gas distribution network.
China-Russia East Route Natural Gas Pipeline: A network linking gas fields in Russia’s Far East to various regions in China, with construction on the Chinese side initiated by CPP in 2015.
Recent Developments:
In 2019, CPP commenced the construction of the Niger–Benin Oil Pipeline, a 1,950-kilometer pipeline connecting oilfields in Niger to the Atlantic coast of Benin. This project, completed in 2023, is recognized as the longest pipeline in Africa.
