Established in 1983, Aga Khan University (AKU) is a pioneering private, not-for-profit institution committed to providing high-quality education, research, and healthcare services. AKU’s main campus is located in Karachi, Pakistan, encompassing an 84-acre site that includes a teaching hospital, hostels, and sports facilities. The university also has campuses and programs in Nairobi (Kenya), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Kampala (Uganda), and London (United Kingdom).

Recent Milestones

• Graduation Achievements: As of February 2025, AKU celebrated surpassing the 5,000-graduate milestone, highlighting its commitment to producing skilled professionals across various disciplines.
• Convocation Address: During the 2024 convocation ceremony, Princess Zahra Aga Khan urged graduates to champion innovation and inclusivity in their respective fields.

Healthcare Services

Serving over two million patients annually, AKU is among the largest private healthcare providers in Pakistan and East Africa. Its hospitals were the first in these regions to receive accreditation from the U.S.-based Joint Commission International, reflecting a commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

Future Endeavors
