    Established in 1964, the Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam is a multispecialty facility offering comprehensive healthcare services. It provides general medical services, specialized clinics, and advanced diagnostic services. The hospital is part of the international AKHS network, connecting with other institutions like the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi and the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi.

    Facilities and Services:

    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU): A 15-bed unit catering to adult, cardiac, and pediatric patients.
    • Hemodialysis Unit: Offering dialysis services for patients with kidney-related ailments.
    • Interventional Cardiology Unit: Providing specialized cardiac care and procedures.
    • Operating Theatres: Equipped with six modern theatres for various surgical interventions.
    • Neurophysiology Unit: Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.
    • Radiology Services: Including MRI, CT scans, and 3D mammography.

    In 2016, the Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam received Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, making it the only JCI-accredited hospital in Tanzania and the second in East Africa, following the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi.
