CMS (Tanzania) Limited is a highly respected mineral exploration drilling company with operations in Tanzania. An industry leader in safety with ambitious growth strategies, we are seeking applications for a dedicated and professional HSE Officer to join our dynamic team. This position will provide the opportunity to be part of a team that contributes towards the exciting growth of the mining industry in Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

  • Train, advise, and support management, supervisors, and employees on environmental, health, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with Capital’s policies, regulations, and standard operating procedures

  • Conduct Job Safety Analyses, competency-based assessments, and Continuous Risk Assessments to create Safe Work Procedures and Safe Operating Procedures

  • Respond to all unsafe conditions like hazard reports, and emergency cases

  • Follow up on all medical cases and arrange statutory pre-employment, periodic and exit medical check and coordinate the OSHA/WIMS portal

  • Follow all HSE protocols, ensure proper housekeeping and handling of all chemicals and hazardous substances

  • Ensure and maintain the safety system in compliance and alignment with Isometrics

  • Serve as Hazardous Waste Disposal Officer for the site inspects, evaluates, and oversees the maintenance and disposition of all hazardous materials stored on site

  • Track the hazards reported, follow the status for each hazard, record them at the hazard register and follow up till closure

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in related field

  • OSHA Basic Trainings

  • Proven work experience as a HSE Officer, or similar role within the drilling / mining industry will be an added advantage

  • Minimum of 3 years HSE experience

  • Familiarity with Tanzania OSHA Legislations and ISO Standards is highly recommended

  • Excellent English and Swahili language skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

  • MS Office proficiency

  • Experience working in multinational and culturally diverse environments
