Minimum Requirements
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Relevant experience transporting passengers and goods, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Valid Code C1 (Code 10) manual driver’s licence.
- Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of the Western Cape Government Transport Circular of 2000.
- Excellent driving and road safety skills.
- Good knowledge of the Cape Peninsula road network.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and reliability.
- Willingness to work overtime, standby shifts, weekends, public holidays, and after-hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff, passengers, goods, and equipment to various destinations.
- Provide transportation services throughout the Western Cape as required.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Report vehicle defects promptly and accurately.
- Maintain detailed and accurate vehicle logbooks.
- Ensure compliance with departmental transport policies and procedures.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and presentable at all times.
- Provide relief support to other staff members within the transport component when necessary.
